Preserving Your Bloom

Preserving Your Bloom isn’t about gardening. It’s a framework that centers on learning how to tend to ourselves so we can flourish and grow, enabling us all to live the life we crave. It’s about being luminous, not lackluster. It’s about using our talents and resources to be the best version of ourselves. And it's about looking inward so we can present our best outward self.

When I turned 75, one of my very best friends texted me that she had bought me something to wear for my milestone birthday and I was going to simply “LOVE IT!”

I couldn’t imagine anything at age 75 that could be that appealing. Maybe a flesh-colored body suit that camouflaged my varicose veins, my sagging knee caps, my droopy boobs and my flabby upper arms?

Nope – it wasn’t that. It was something way better!

It was a jean jacket!

But not just ANY jean jacket. It was an upcycled dark blue jean jacket emblazoned with an oversized, heavily sequined Hamsa on the back center panel.

The Spark of Transformation

At that moment, I fell in love with both the jacket and the upcycling process.

That was three years ago and, since then I am transfixed by the excitement of transformation. I heartily embrace the beauty of giving these forgotten garments a second life.

My journey began with a passion for individual expression, for sustainability and for a desire to reduce waste in the fashion industry.

And, along the way, I have been helped, encouraged, mentored and, yes, pushed, by loving and supportive and incredibly enthusiastic friends to birth a company:

Funky Creations showcases and sells to other like-minded women our one-of-a-kind, unique jean jackets.

Today, my mission is to provide fashionable, upcycled jean apparel not only for women, but kids too. Each jacket is carefully crafted, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Funky Creations’ pieces stand-out and make a statement.

By combining creativity with eco-conscious practices, Funky Creations celebrates individuality, while making a positive impact on the environment.
